Episode 14: Christmas Devotional: The Holy Family.
Heather M R Olsen
I have a favorite Christmas devotional, the author introduced to me by one of my treasured teachers. She is the first person who taught me about my Jewish Yeshua and I was hooked instantly, 24 years ago.
The author of this devotional compilation is Ken Gire, who has written many meaningful devotionals. The two books I will be drawing from are Intimate Moments with the Savior; Learning to Love and Intense Moments with the Savior; Learning to Feel.
Mr. Gire takes biblical passages and turns them into real life stories that put us into the passage. They are personal, tapping into human emotions such as fear, joy, wonder, plus physical pain and thoughts of what is God is up to? If we are honest, we, too, can wonder what God is doing in our lives when things aren’t going as we have planned.
Keep in mind, like the streamed series, The Chosen, though biblical, there is creative license. Focus on the message and the human aspect and you will be blessed.
